Neil Sands

Welcome to The Remember When Show

NEIL SANDS
Neil is a very experienced and versatile performer who can trace his roots in entertainment back to being in a skiffle group when he was 8 years old.
Born in Ilford in Essex, he played in various local pop groups in the 1960s but it was to be in sports entertainment where Neil would first find fame. His interest in sport had led in to wrestling and in 1970 turned professional. This took him all around the world and led to many appearances on ITV's World of Sport. Wrestling many greats of the era like Jackie Pallo, Kendo Nagasaki, Giant Haystacks and even competing for the Heavyweight Championship of the World against The Giant American The Mighty Quinn in 1981.

On retiring from the ring Neil pursued his entertaining by performing a cabaret act in night clubs and on the Butlins circuit
He has appeared in films with Richard Burton, John Cleese, and Richard Harris. His TV credits include Lovejoy, The Chiefs & Campion. He even taught his Royal Highness Prince Edward to wrestle for the Cambridge production of Trafford Tanzi.

Over the past 15 years Neil has been producing and appearing in Theatre shows including for the past 10 years the country's most popular Country music show Nashville Nights & Dixie Days, and for the past 5 years Remember When at Christmas, this past year has seen There'll Always Be An England storm theatres and in 2011 he will be producing a classical crossover show Calssic Divas.

The idea behind Remember When is that he wanted to produce a show that his late Mum & Dad, Rene & Archie Sawyer would have liked, and is proud to believe they are watching over him every time he steps on stage.

GEMMA TURNER

I think its fair to say that singing is just about the most important thing in Gemma's life.
She has been singing since the age of 5 and in her earlier years she performed at music festivals all over the country.
She started taking singing lessons age 11 and progressed through exams at The Royal School of Music and The London Trinity College of Music. She has performed in many well known Musical Productions and venues including the London Palladium, and The Royal Albert Hall.
Gemma has been influenced by many different styles of music which has given her the versatility to perform from Classical Arias which she regularly performs in concerts and recitals all around the country to the more popular music and is a member of Neil's Nashville Nights & Dixie Days show.
Often described as An English Rose with the True Voice of an Angel, it is no surprise that she is in great demand as a Wedding singer performing in some
of the countries finest churches and cathedrals.

CAROLYN HODGSON

Carolyn is the newest member of our show, she lives in Bedfordshire., and is with out a doubt a multi talented young lady.

From an early age she had shown a great interest in performing and theatre, this led to her gaining a BA Honours Degree in Theatre & Professional Practice at Coventry University. Before going on to study Musical Theatre at Bristol.

Her many stage credits include A Little Night Music, Spring Awakening, Hair, The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe, Old School Musical 2, and Cinderella.

In films Carolyn has appeared in Steven Spielberg’s War House and she is soon to be seen on television in a commercial for the 2011 London Olympics.
She is an accomplished pianist, and plays the Saxophone.
She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Flamenco. Salas, Street and contemporary Dance.
She is really looking forward to touring the country and is wondering if she will clock up as many miles as her sister who is a professional airline pilot.
She brings to this show a beautiful warm voice, and vibrant personality, great enthusiasm, and tons of talent. Which we are sure will make her very popular with audiences everywhere.
